What is the Social Initiative Forum?

Social Initiative Forum is a gathering of Egyptian and national network of activists, ecosystem key players, social organizations, academics, and individuals involved in the four pillars of sustainable development Economy, Social, Culture, and Ecology who already making a change, need a platform to exchange knowledge and experiences, share their challenges and struggles and voice out solutions to problems in their local context.

Why SEKEM?

SEKEM was founded with the idea of sustainable development and giving back to the community. The vision that brought Dr. Ibrahim Abouleish to dig the first well in the vast desert land still resounds in SEKEMs approach of conducting business. Why Heliopolis University?

Heliopolis University for Sustainable Development was established with the aim to pioneer the introduction of the concepts and principles of sustainable development to the students and the Egyptian community to improve well-being by decreasing threats to the Earth’s systems through industrialization and consumption. COVID-19 precautions : To keep our guests safe

1. Enhanced cleaning All SEKEM events will undertake enhanced, deep cleaning before, during and after our events, working with venue partners to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness. 2. Personal hygiene All SEKEM events will provide additional hand washing facilities and hand sanitizing stations throughout the event space, encouraging all participants to regularly wash and disinfect their hands. 3. non-contact registration All SEKEM events will employ a system that facilitates paperless registration for participants, including the availability of online registration. 4. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Participants at all SEKEM events will be asked to wear a face mask on entry. Further items of PPE. 5.
